Sometimes I just shoot entrepreneurs to hear what they are trying to do and am not all that excited by the use case. This is one of those times. +DabKick lets you use your mobile phone with your friends and share photos and video at the same time. I think this use case will struggle. Photos? I'd rather share them on either Google+ or Facebook and share them with my friends or family that way, not do them synchronously. But maybe I'm wrong. What do you think? SRI has another winner. This is the lab that brought the world the mouse, HDTV, and Siri. Now they've come up with a contextual calendar called Tempo. This calendar blows away Apple's own calendar (and Google's, for that matter). Here you'll hear how it was developed as I visit SRI (Silicon Valley's most important lab) and how it finds important facts about your calendar by contextually digging through your email, existing calendar, and contacts. Unfortunately this is only available on iOS today but even if you are on other platforms you'll want to see what this calendar does. It's increased my productivity a LOT in the past month I've been using it.

As I get around the world of business looking for stories about how we're headed into an age of context, where sensors, wearable computers, big data, social data, and location data will be combined to change our products and our companies I can think of no better place to start than Plantronics. Their headsets were used by the first astronauts and are often at the cutting edge of wearable devices. Here I visit with Joe Burton, CTO and Senior Vice President of Engineering and Development, to get a look at how Plantronics is thinking about sensors and interactions and gestures.
