MapBox Closes $10M Series A From Foundry Group To Build The Future Of Interactive, Mobile Maps
Cloud-based map platform startup MapBox, which gives developers tools to add interactive maps to their web and mobile offerings, clad in their own brand colours/designs - and counts foursquare, Uber, GitHub, Evernote and the FT among its 2,500+ paying subscribers - has just closed a $10 million Series A from Foundry Group.

E-mount cameras with a full frame image sensor? They exist, and we're giving you the first look! The A7 will feature a 24-megapixel sensor, with the A7r kicking that number up to 36 megapixels. Both cameras feature an OLED XGA viewfinder, also found on the Sony a99.

Oracle releases 127 security fixes, 51 for Java alone
It is Critical Patch Update (CPU) time for Oracle customers, which in one way or another is nearly everyone. This is the first time Oracle is patching Java on the same quarterly cycle as other products, and perhaps the first time I have had something positive to say about Oracle security.

Over the past few years, the best mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras have caught up to low- to mid-range DSLRs in terms of performance. They've always been more-portable than traditional DSLRs, too. And now, they're going after the big guns: The professional full-frame cameras that boast bigger sensors than the APS-C imagers found in consumer DSLRs.
