Exclusive first look at a new mail client for mobile that blows away Mailbox and others that I've tried. Coming in September. You'll want this one, believe me.

When I was attending San Jose State back in the early 1990s one of the students made an impression by putting a $10,000 lens onto his credit cards. That student was Brad Mangin and he's gone on to be one of the best sports photographers alive today. .His book Baseball Instagrams of Brad Mangin w/ Intro by Pedro Gomez is awesome.
His new book Instant Baseball just arrived and it's a keeper. All shot on iPhone 4S and published on Instagram.
Hey, Kevin Systrom did you ever expect your little photo sharing service would be used by pros to do such nice work?

CNN
It's interesting listening to the NTSB, who just concluded its first report (NTSB Chairman Deborah Hersman told a press conference a few minutes ago that they had already listened to the flight data recorders and presented this timeline:
1. Seven seconds before impact a crew member asked for an increase in speed.
2. Four seconds before impact the plane told the crew they were in danger of stalling (the NTSB reported that the plane was "significantly slower than the 137 knot target speed for landing at SFO).
3. 1.5 seconds before impact a crew member asked for a "go around." That's language for aborting the landing and wanting to "go around" for another landing attempt.
The NTSB Chairman Deborah Hersman was very careful about not laying blame yet. She said they will be looking at all factors in what caused the crash before laying blame and she implored the press to just report the facts as she presented them.

KTVU Channel 2 has been doing the best job of covering the plane crash today. Nice to hear, from this post on KTVU, that most people are accounted for and are safe. Sad for the 49 people who are in the hospital tonight and the two dead. Tragic but could have been a LOT worse.
What's weird is I'm now friends with Janis Krums who made the photo of the plane crash in the Hudson and he says he thinks this is the first one photoed and videoed by a passenger.
Yes, it is weirding me out to be Facebook friends with both Janis and David Eun (who was on today's plane). I also met Capt Chesley Sullenberger who landed that plane after a speech he gave at Davos. Hopefully this is the closest I come to tragedy in my life.
The world keeps getting smaller.

More on the SFO crash:
My Facebook friend David Eun (Samsung exec) was on the plane that crashed at SFO. He posted video right after he escaped. Unfortunately he posted that to friends only, so I can't properly reshare it.
I'm seeing so much misinformation on Twitter and elsewhere. I don't get why people pass along stuff like that (and the pros aren't much better, one "pro" report said it was a cargo plane).
Some other things that really bug me: people who steal photos without giving credit to the person who posted (and a link to the original).
Anyone who does either of these sins really isn't helping anyone and usually gets a quick unfollow from me.
The best place to find news after a breaking story like this? Twitter, because of its search engine: https://twitter.com/search?q=SFO had dozens of photos within 30 minutes of the accident.
My thoughts with the few people injured (I'm hearing at least one critically).
Lots of friends are stuck in airports around the world, too. Dave Winer was supposed to land shortly after the crash at SFO, but his flight was diverted to Las Vegas instead.
Sheryl Sandberg reports she wasn't on the plane (many were asking, because she was just in Korea).
