I love our three boys. Swimming at the Ritz pool rocks. Now back home to upload a bunch of videos. Gotta give some of you something other than Apple stuff to see on your feed for next 24 hours! Right?

Is this the future of Twitter? Check out what Nascar is doing right now: https://twitter.com/hashtag/nascar

Twitter really did something nice by keeping to 140 characters. Everyone can use it, even race car drivers, and it works better on mobile than Facebook does for the most part. Damn, I wish Facebook would overhaul its iOS app.

Also, Twitter is ahead in its ability to gather things together thanks to Hashtags. Funny, wasn't it Chris Messina who invented those? Any irony to the fact that he now works on the Google+ team?

But Facebook is working on providing this stuff too. Its interest lists at https://www.facebook.com/addlist are far superior to lists over on Twitter.

Have you tried the new Facebook app center yet? https://www.facebook.com/appcenter

I'm really loving it. Found a bunch of new apps. Why?

Because YOU are using them!

Who said that your friends don't influence you? I didn't. Neither did Paul Adams. Have you read his book yet? Here's an interview about that, titled Grouped : http://allthingsd.com/20120126/qa-facebook-researcher-paul-adams/

We are having quite a conversation over on Google+ about something Facebook does a lot better: keeping the conversation on track. Thanks to the Facebook teams for working to reduce noise and increase signals here. I know I've given you heck for when you blocked me, but I am really seeing a huge increase in quality here lately and that's due to your noise controls. Thanks Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg and Elliot Schrage and your teams!

This is one of the places where we need dramatically more innovation. It's why I like Flipboard so much. It is trying to remove noise and increase signal. Hey, Flipboard's CEO: Mike McCue, I won't be shocked if someone bought Flipboard for multiple billions of dollars. In fact I'm shocked there hasn't been a bidding war yet between Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook, and Microsoft for your company. Noise controls are going to be a major differentiator and already are for Facebook (and they get better and better every week, both because I'm putting more effort into Facebook, but also because the algorithms themselves get better as those hackers over in San Mateo check in new code).

Anyway, bring on more noise controls!

Getting drunk with one of the folks who work on the iPhone team is inspiring. I now see a crude world! Thanks Andy!

What is interesting about this is that I can see the move from the conversational world to the contextual one won't be clear or easy.

The crude world is coming.

How Chris Brogan feeds the media beast.

If you haven't read one of Chris Brogan's blog, you should. He covers business insights as he consults with tons of them. Anyway, we met up at the recent Blog World Expo (now called the New Media Expo) and we had a fun talk about what's happening in media today and what it takes to keep serving our audiences.
