Robert Scoble and I are thrilled to announce that my old and trusted friend Shonali Burke has joined our Age of Context team. She will manage events and PR for us--a truly daunting task. I've known Shonali for years and she is a real pro. She's listed as one of 25 women that rock social media. She also blogs extremely well and this morning she informed me that she is the world's greatest cook. Since she seems so credible, it must be true.

Rackspace, the open cloud company, today announced it has entered into a contributor agreement with CERN openlab. During the year-long collaboration, Rackspace will deliver a hybrid cloud solution featuring its public and private clouds powered by OpenStack to help CERN advance its mission by enabling more in-depth research into the origins of the universe.

Rackspace Builds A New Cloud For CERN, AKA the Place that Invented the Web
There's some interesting news on the cloud computing front today, interesting mainly because of one entity involved: CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics. That would be the place that 20 years ago created what we now call The Web. CERN (its headquarters are pictured) has tapped Texas-based Rackspace to help it build a hybrid cloud computing system.
